How it Works

All orders are placed by phone or in person at our Portland showroom. Because our products are made to order – and to your specifications – it’s best that we talk by phone to firm up color, dimensions, hardware, etc. before we start building. We’ll confirm all aspects of your order via email, and process your deposit by phone. It’s as easy as that!

When you’re ready to ask a question or place an order, call or email Sales to start the conversation. We are available to assist with all your ordering needs, including making recommendations on color, style and product groupings.

Production Timeline

Furniturea requires a 50% deposit – payable by phone or in person – to begin production. Your order will be completed 4 weeks or less, and accounts must be paid in full prior to pickup/delivery. We accept all major credit cards, cash and check.


With the exception of our beds, Furniturea products ship fully assembled. We work closely with Handcrafted Delivery, a Maine-based, white- glove shipping company that specializes in blanket-wrapped, fine furniture delivery.

Delivery timelines are determined according the schedule of Handcrafted Delivery, and are negotiated on behalf of the customer by Furniturea.

Flat-rate shipping prices are outlined below:

Region 1 … $99
Maine (south of Auburn)

Region 2 … $199
Maine (north of Auburn), NH, MA, VT, RI

Region 3 … $299
CT, NJ, parts of NY (including 100-122 & 125-126), parts of PA (including 180-181, 189-191, 193-196), VA, DE, MD

Region 4 … $399
WV, NC, SC, GA, FL, OH, KY, TN, AL, MS, MI, IN, WI, IL, plus parts of PA and NY (not listed in Region 3)

Region 5 … $499

We ship accessories via UPS Ground, and calculate shipping costs according to your order. For a UPS shipping quote, please contact Sales.

Finally, customers are welcome to pickup completed orders by appointment. There is no charge to pickup your order – however – customers are responsible for providing packing blankets and loading furniture into their vehicle. Because Furniturea is designed around blanket-wrapped delivery, our products are neither boxed nor wrapped.

Return Policy

Furniturea will refund the purchase price of stock furniture returned in like-new condition within 30 days of delivery for any reason. Returns must be shipped at the customer’s cost to our workshop at 15 Saunders Way, Unit 100A, Westbrook, ME 04092.

After inspection to verify condition, credit card orders will receive a credit; orders paid by check or cash will receive a refund check. Shipping costs are not refundable. Orders changed and/or cancelled after 3 business days may be subject to a fee equal to 15% of the order amount, not including tax and shipping costs, if your furniture has been placed in production.

Custom furniture orders, floor model and sale purchases are final sale/non-refundable.

Retail accessories sales are refundable for 14 days following purchase.
